BOSTON POLICE APPREHEND MURDER SUSPECT

Boston Police traveled to Delaware to arrest the man responsible for recent homicide.Homicide investigators identified murder suspect, Jose M. Delacruz, 21, of Dorchester, as the individual responsible for the shooting death of Tyrice Brown, 18, of Roxbury. After an exhaustive investigation surrounding the facts and circumstances of Mr. Brown’s murder, detectives applied for and were granted an arrest warrant from Roxbury District Court charging Delacruz with Murder.
A joint effort by the Boston Police Fugitive & Apprehension Unit, the United States Marshall Services and local police agencies in Delaware resulted in the arrest of Delacruz in the Delaware area.
On Thursday February 8, 2007 at approximately 2:53 am, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot at 651 Warren Street. On arrival, officers observed a victim lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center where he was soon pronounced. The deceased victim has been identified as Tyrice Brown.
Delacruz will be arraigned in Delaware, charged as being a fugitive from justice and returned to Boston at a future date. The Delaware police continue to assist Boston Police Homicide detectives in the ongoing investigation. When Delacruz returns to Boston he will be charged with Murder
