One Less Gun On The StreetsAt about 4:45 pm, on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, members of the District 11 Drug Control Unit, while patrolling in the area of Stoughton and Sumner Streets, observed a black male on a bicycle hand an item to the another suspect, who then cuffed the item and rolled it up into the sleeve of his sweatshirt. Believing an illegal transaction had occurred, officers then approached the suspects to conduct a threshold inquiry. As officers approached the suspects, the suspects attempted to flee. Officers, however, were able to detain the suspects. One of the suspects then told offices that he had a bag of marijuana in his right pocket. The other was carrying a firearm in his waistband. As a result, officers arrested Markeese Skinner, 19, of Dorchester, and charged him with Possession of Class D Drugs With Intent to Distribute. The second suspect, a 16 year-old from Dorchester, was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition and Possession of Class D Drugs With Intent to Distribute
Disrespect Never Smart
About 5:11pm, on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, officers from District A-7, responded to a disturbance at 45 Maverick Square in East Boston. On arrival, officers observed a white male yelling and screaming in front of a group of children. As a result, officers warned the individual to calm down. After being told to calm down, the above individual then grabbed his groin and told officers, “I’m going to (expletive) you up.” Officers also noted that the suspect was slurring his words and smelled of an alcoholic beverage. Officers then arrested Richard Deutsch, 38, and charged him with being a Disorderly Person.
Purse Snatchers Apprehended
At approximately 12:14 am on March 14, 2007, officers from District E-13, while patrolling the area of 324 Centre Street, observed two black males running down the Centre Street. Officers then heard a female voice yelling for help. As a result, officers then pursued the above suspects and stopped them for questioning. According to the victim, as she was walking towards her front porch, one of the above suspects pushed her down and grabbed her pocketbook. One of the above suspects had the victim’s bag in her possession. Officers then arrested Lawrence Benjamin, 17, Framingham and a 16 year-old from Roxbury and charged both with Unarmed Robbery.
