On arrival officers spoke to the victim who reported that he placed his laptop on the counter, turned his back briefly, and turned around to see an individual walking away with his laptop. The suspect, Majed Almyahi, 44, of Roslindale was arrested and charged with Larceny Over $250. Video Surveillance was subsequently reviewed which showed the suspect stealing the computer.
Shots Fired at 6 Greenmount Street
About 3:21pm yesterday, officers responded to 6 Greenmount St. in Dorchester for a person shot. On arrival officers located a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center by ambulance, where he remains in critical condition.
Defective Equipment Lands Drug Dealer in Jail
About 5:30pm yesterday, officers from the Youth Violence Task Force conducted a traffic stop of a car at the intersection of Erie and Washington St. after making note that the car had defective equipment. Officers approached the car and while one officer was speaking to the driver, another officer observed a clear plastic bag in the rear pocket of the front passenger seat containing green leafy matter believed to be marijuana. The rear passenger was removed, and admitted that the drugs belonged to him. The passenger, Eder Francois, 23, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Possession of Class D, Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute, and Possession to with Intent to Distribute Class D within 1,000’ of a School Zone. Officers recovered 7 large bags, 2 medium bags and 12 small bags of marijuana from the rear pocket of the seat. The operator was cited for having defective equipment on the car.

Officers from the Youth Violence Task Force arrested suspect, Carmaine Johnson, 20, of Dorchester and charged him with Assault with Intent to Murder, Carrying a Loaded a Firearm, Unlawful Possession a Firearm (2nd Offense), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling, Armed Career Criminal, and Trespassing. Officers also arrested suspect, Jerome Wells, 20, of Milton and charged him with Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest and an outstanding warrant for Affray and Disorderly Conduct.
At approximately 5:57pm, officers were on patrol in the area of Washington St. and Norwell St. when they observed a group of individuals walking from Washington St. towards Norwell St. Officers approached the group and attempted to initiate a conversation with the group. Two members of the group acted nervous as officers were talking and suspect, Johnson, was observed to adjust something in his waist. At one point, officers observed suspect, Johnson, manipulate an object in his waistband as if ready to pull something out. Officers at this point, believing Johnson to be armed, chased suspect Johnson and Wells as they fled.
Officers pursued suspect Wells, apprehending him after a lengthy foot chase. One officer pursued suspect, Johnson into an alley on Norwell St., and as the officer rounded the corner at the rear of the building, the suspect, turned with his arm extended, pointed a firearm at the pursuing officer and fired one shot at the officer. The officer quickly took cover and continued to pursue the suspect as he jumped over a fence. Additional officers quickly responded to the area and the suspect was found hiding in a dumpster, and placed under arrest. Officers subsequently recovered the firearm used by suspect, Johnson.
B&E Suspect Arrested Walking Away in Sweatshirt and Underwear
About 11:50pm last night, officers from District 4 arrested suspect, Angel Vasquez, 45, of Dorchester and charged him with Home Invasion, Attempted Breaking and Entering, Unarmed Breaking and Entering, Malicious Destruction of Property, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon on a Police Officer.
Officers from District initially responded to a cal for a breaking and entering in progress at 8 Coventry, and on arrival spoke to as victim who reported that an individual had broken into his apartment through the window and that the suspect was still in his apartment. The suspect, on officer arrival, had barricaded himself in the apartment by blocking all the doors with various furniture and appliances. Once officers were able to gain entry, they determined that the suspect had fled the location and a perimeter was set up to capture the suspect. Officers broadcast a description of the suspect, and while doing so another call for a breaking and entering came in for 1041 and 1053 Tremont St., a short distance from Coventry St. A victim reported hearing noise in the hallway of 1053 and observed the suspect trying to break a locked door of the common hallway by using a 4×4 board. The victim reported that when he approached the suspect, he threatened him with the board.
While officers maintained a perimeter of the Tremont and Coventry St. area, the suspect was observed walking on Tremont St. wearing a sweatshirt and only underwear. An officer approached the suspect to place him under arrest, and the suspect swung around with a knife and attempted to strike the officer. The suspect was disarmed after a brief struggle and the knife recovered.
Officers subsequently spoke to another victim who reported that the suspect broke into her apartment while she was home, and when she confronted the suspect, he armed himself with several knives and fled.
