Five Suspects Arrested for Dealing Drugs Across from District 4 Police Station

After numerous complaints from residents and community leaders about drug dealing in the Cathedral Housing Project, the Area D Drug Unit initiated an investigation that resulted in a search warrant being issued for 37 Monsignor Reynolds Way, Apt. #237 in the South End.Yesterday about 8:00pm, officers from the Area D Drug Unit, armed with a search warrant, set up surveillance on the target location prior to executing the search warrant. During surveillance, officers observed a drug transactions take place and confirmed it by stopping the individual. That individual was stopped, and the purchased drugs recovered. He will be summonsed in to court. As officers continued their surveillance, focusing primarily on the individuals selling drugs, they again observed the same individual that had sold drugs to the individual going back to 37 Monsignor Reynolds Way.
Having observed this transaction, and the manner in which these individuals were operating, officers strategically placed themselves in position and made a peaceful entry into the apartment designated in the search warrant. Pursuant to a search of the apartment, officers recovered a substantial amount of crack cocaine, some heroin and a small quantity of marijuana. Officers also seized some currency, a cell phone, various drug paraphernalia, and items consistent with drug dealing.
The below noted suspects were arrested and charged with Possession of Class B, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B within 1,000’ of a School Zone.
1. Ernest Bridges, 56, of Roxbury
2. Corey Cornelius, 35, of Roxbury
3. Holly A. Lafferty, 18, Homeless
4. Theresa Miles, 44, of Boston
5. Jacqueline Gilbert, 38, of Boston
In addition to the above individuals being charged in connection with this drug operation, three other individuals were summonsed to court in relation to possession of drugs. These individuals will be appearing at Boston Municipal Court on Monday 2/26/07.
