DUCK .. DUCK .. DUMBAbout 1:47am, on Sunday, February 18, 2007, officers from A-15 observed an illegally parked motor vehicle (double-parked) at the intersection of Medford Street and Old Landing Way. As officers drove past the car, they observed two individuals inside the car quickly duck down so as to avoid being seen. As a result of the suspect’s actions, officers then activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens). A check of the motor vehicle, via the mobile data terminal (the computer inside the cruiser), showed the motor vehicle to be stolen. Officers then arrested Joseph Rivera, 17, of Dorchester and a 16 year-old male from the South End and charged both with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
VICTIM GETS HER CAR BACK
About 11:34 am, on Sunday, February 18, 2007, officers from District B-3, responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at 97 Norfolk Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she was on her way to the police station to report her car stolen when she saw it parked at the corner of Norfolk Street. The victim further states, as she approached the car, she saw a black male sitting in the driver’s seat. The victim then told officers that the suspect exited the motor vehicle and fled, on foot, toward New England Avenue. While officers were still talking to the victim on the scene, victim suddenly yelled, “there he goes.” Officers then arrested Joseph Charles Moore, 18, of Dorchester, and charged him with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
RETURNING TO THE SCENE NEVER A GOOD IDEA
About 9:34pm, on Sunday, February 18, 2007, officers from B-2 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of 105 Hutchings Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim and a witness. While officers were speaking to both the victim and the witness, the witness observed the suspect walking down the street and stated, ”there he is .. that’s the one who robbed him.” Officers quickly apprehended the suspect. The victim also positively identified the suspect, saying, “that’s him.” Officers then arrested Reginald Sablon, 21, of Mattapan, and charged him with Armed Robbery. While the suspect was being booked, officers recovered a c-d player and a cell phone. Both items were positively identified by the victim as items that were taken from him during the robbery.
