DAILY INCIDENTS FOR JANUARY 14, 2007

Armed Robbery Suspect “Surrenders Self” at Police StationAt approximately 11:15am yesterday, officers from District 2 arrested suspect, Keionie S. Baker, 22, of Dorchester for an outstanding warrant for Unarmed Robbery. The suspect walked in to District 2 to retrieve a claim slip for a towed car and provided her Massachusetts Driver’s license as identification. Check of suspect’s identification revealed her to have an outstanding warrant for unarmed robbery and as such she was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant.
Drug Unit Seizes Large Amount of Oxycontin and Arrest Suspect
Yesterday around 11:30am, officers from the Boston Police Drug Unit arrested suspect, Michael Pye, 25, of South Boston and charged him with Trafficking Class B, Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute.
Officers based on investigative work responded to 14 Vinson St. in South Boston and gained entry with the consent of the suspect. Officers were able to recover and seize over 100 grams of Class B in the form of over 1,200 pills believed to be oxycontin, and a large amount of marijuana. Officers also seized close to $,1500. in currency and several items consistent with drug distribution.
Carjacking and Armed Robbery Suspect Nabbed by Multi-District Effort
Last night around 6:35pm, officers from District 4 responded to the Stop & Shop at Massachusetts Ave. and Allstate Rd. for an armed carjacking. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported that she was carjacked while loading her groceries into her car. The victim further reported that the suspect opened her car door and threatened her, while wielding a knife. The suspect thereafter fled the area in victim’s car and a description of the suspect and car was broadcast.
About 7:45pm, officers responded to the area of Massachusetts Ave. and Westland Ave. for an armed robbery. Officers quickly responded there and spoke to the victim. The victim stated she went to the ATM at the above location and once inside encountered the suspect who was already there. The victim reported that the suspect approached her and brandished a large knife and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect some money and he demanded more of her. The victim observed the suspect as he left the ATM and provided a description of the suspect and his motor vehicle. Based on that description, officers were able to ascertain that the suspect was the same as the one who had committed the armed carjacking about an hour ago. Again, a description of the suspect, and the car was broadcast along with direction of flight.
At approximately 9:39pm, a Boston Police canine officer, assisted by officers from District 2, observed the vehicle that was carjacked and had been used in the armed robbery. The vehicle was unoccupied and double parked across the street from District 2 at 144 Dudley Street. Officers then observed two individuals approach and enter the car. Both individuals were held pending positive identification. The operator was positively identified as the suspect who had committed the armed robbery, and officers recovered a knife from the car believed to be the same one used in both incidents. Suspect, Luis Ayala, 53, of Jamaica Plain was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking, Armed Robbery and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
