DAILY INCIDENTS FOR JANUARY 13, 2007

Suspect Arrested with Stolen Phone While Casing New VictimsAt approximately 9:50pm last night, officers from District 4 arrested Richard Hardiman, 40, of Cambridge and charged him with Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
Officers were on patrol in the Back Bay area of Commonwealth Ave. and Dartmouth St. when they observed the suspect looking into cars while pretending to talk on a cell phone. Officers continued to observed this individual for approximately fifteen minutes as he proceeded at a very slow pace looking into cars. Officers stopped the suspect and conducted an investigation. The investigation revealed that the phone that the suspect had in his possession had been stolen the day before, and that the suspect had in his possession an item used as a burglarious tool.
OUI Suspect Arrested After Hitting Six Parked Cars
Last night around 11:33pm, officers from District 11 responded to a radio call for a motor vehicle accident involving a drunk driver at 336 Savin Hill Ave. in Dorchester. On arrival, officers observed the suspect’s car facing the wrong way on the street with a broken axle resting on several parked cars. Officers observed six cars that were hit by the suspect’s motor vehicle as he drove down a one-way street. Witnesses on scene, some of whom were also victims, stated that they had removed the suspect’s keys from the ignition when he attempted to flee after hitting the parked cars. Officers made observations of the suspect that lead them to believe that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect refused to perform any field sobriety tests. The suspect, Arthur Dakin, 43, of Halifax was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, and issued a citation for Operating a Motor Vehicle on a One way Going the Wrong way.
Pick Pocket Arrested Hugging Victim
This morning around 2:21am, officers from District 1 while on patrol in the area of State St. and McKinley St. arrested Dennis Platt, 39, of Dorchester and charged him with Larceny from a Person/Pick-Pocket and Resisting Arrest. Officers arrested the suspect after their attention was drawn to the suspect who was talking in a loud manner as he hugged the victim. As officers were observing the interaction, they saw suspect stick his hand in the victim’s pocket and remove his wallet. The suspect threw the wallet on the ground as officers approached him. Officers spoke to both parties and learned that the victim did not know the suspect but had simply been approached by him.
Officers Arrest Armed Suspect After Foot Pursuit
This morning around 3:00am, officers from District 1 responded to the area of 83 Essex St. for a report of a person shot. Officers in the area had observed the incident and gave a description of the suspect as they attempted to pursue the fleeing suspect. Other responding units shortly thereafter located an individual matching the given description in the area of Harvard St. and Tyler St. The suspect gain attempted to elude capture by running but was caught after a brief foot pursuit.
Assisting officers from District 1, while the suspect was being placed under arrest, located a firearm along the route that the suspect had taken while fleeing. A witness was able to identify the suspect as the person he had observed hiding and throwing an object where the firearm was found. Suspect, Armando Robles, 27, of Boston was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. The victim of the shooting incident was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in stable condition.
