Clarification to Person Shot at 471 Blue Hill AvenueLast night officers responded to a radio call for a person shot at 471 Blue Hill Avenue. Officers located the victim at 471 Blue Hill Avenue; further investigation revealed the victim was shot at Nazing and Seaver Streets.
Animal Incident In Ross Field
Yesterday around 4:59pm, officers in District 18 responded to a radio call for a vicious dog attacking another dog at Reddy Avenue and Frazier Street. On arrival officers spoke with victim who stated that she was walking her dog at Ross Field, when a pit bull dog medium complexion attacked and killed her dog. The victim stated that the pit bull was in the playground area and was not leashed, when it jumped over the fence to the playground and began attacking her dog. Animal control responded to the scene and removed the victim’s dog.
Breaking and Entering at 470 Atlantic Avenue
Yesterday officers responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering report at 470 Atlantic Avenue. On arrival officers spoke with the caller who stated that several floors, the 4th, 5th and 11th floor offices were ransacked with various miscellaneous items missing. The two suspects were observed on the first floor empty handed but upon leaving one of the suspects was carrying a bag. Suspects also made several charges on the credit cards that were stolen from various file cabinet draws.
Breaking and Entering Suspect Arrested
Yesterday around 2:08pm, officers in District 14 responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 41 Long Avenue. On arrival officers spoke with the caller who stated she heard the door buzzer and when she leaned out the window observed a suspect climbing into the front porch window of apartment #1. The caller did observe the suspect coming out of the main door, paused momentarily and then retreated back inside. Additional officers arrived on scene and surrounded the house. Officers observed the suspect standing in the rear alcove through a window. Upon seeing the officers the suspect fled from the dwelling and ran across the street into the driveway of 42 Long Avenue. Officers pursued the suspect on foot thorough several back yards climbing fences. The suspect was apprehended in the rear of 28 Long Avenue. Franklin Abernathy, 42, of Brighton was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering and Resisting Arrest.
