Victim of Home Invasion and Son Survive Harrowing IncidentYesterday around 10:55am, officers from District 3 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 126 Armandine St. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported that two suspects forced their way into her house and robbed her at gunpoint. Victim stated that she was at home when she heard knocking at her door. Victim asked of the person knocking his identity and they responded that they were her boyfriend’s cousins. Victim opened the door partially when the suspects pushed the door open fully and entered her apartment. The suspects, armed with guns, then demanded money and ransacked the house looking for money. The victim reported that the suspect threatened to shoot her and her infant child during the robbery. The suspects, unable to find any money in the house, took money from the victim’s purse and fled the house. Officers searched the area for the suspects, but were unsuccessful in locating them.
Feud at Dorchester Court Leads to Recovery of Two Firearms and Arrest of Two
Officers from District 3, yesterday around 12:34pm, responded to Dorchester Court at the urging of officers at the court. Those officers had observed parties from two feuding groups and had made note that they were acting disruptively and were confrontational with each other. Officers, while there, continued to monitor the members of the two vying groups and noted that a number of them had prior histories for gun and gang violence. Officers actively engaged members of both groups, most of whom were known to them, by dispersing them and encouraging them to disregard the members of the other group.
Officers, while on scene, observed a motor vehicle occupied by two members of the feuding groups commit a motor vehicle infraction. A motor vehicle stop was conducted a short distance from the court. During that traffic stop, occupants of the car acted furtively. Based on the history of the occupants, their mannerisms and the conflict that had almost taken place outside the court officers removed the occupants from the car. During that process officers discovered the front passenger and the rear passenger to be in possession of firearms. Suspects, Ferndy Elysee, 23 and Richard Davis, 19, of Mattapan were both arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm.
Mounted Unit Comes to the Rescue
At approximately 4:12pm yesterday, a mounted unit officer arrested suspect, Lonnie Raleigh Jr., 41, of Boston and charged him with Larceny Over $250, Receiving Stolen Property and an outstanding warrant for Larceny Over $250, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.
The Boston Police mounted officer was on patrol in the area of 15 Charles when he was approached by the victim of a shoplifting incident. The victim reported to the officers that the suspects had entered her store/Ruby Door Boutique located at 15 Charles St. and had stolen three pieces of jewelry. The officer, shortly after broadcasting the suspects’ description, observed the suspects walking on Charles St. The officer confronted the suspects when one the suspects fled jumping over a wrought iron fence in the Boston Commons. The officer pursued the suspect and with the assistance of other units stopped him and placed him under arrest.
Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Driver for Marijuana Possession
At 1:27am today, officers from District 2 conducted a traffic stop of a motor vehicle that had failed to stop for a red light at Washington St. and Dale St. During the traffic stop, officers requested of the operator his license and registration. The operator stated that he did not have his license on him, but supplied officers his name and date of birth. While officers were trying to confirm the information given by the driver, they observed a clear plastic bag with marijuana at the feet of the driver. The operator was asked to exit the car and while exiting the car another bag of marijuana fell out of the driver’s pocket. The driver, Zatiti Smith, 25, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Possession of Class D, Failure to Stop for a Red Light, and Operating a Motor Vehicle at a Speed Greater than Reasonable. During a search incident to lawful arrest, suspect was found to be in possession of two additional bags of marijuana in his shoes and socks.
