Road Rage Incidents Lands One in JailYesterday around 12:07pm, officers from District 14 responded to a call for a fight in progress at Travis St. and Western Ave in Brighton. On arrival, officers spoke to those involved as well as witnesses. Both individuals involved, the victim and the suspect, reported getting into a physical altercation after a traffic disagreement. The victim reported that the suspect initially attacked him, while the suspect reported that the victim was the primary aggressor. During the fight, the victim reported that the suspect pulled out a knife and attempted to stab him. Suspect, Luis A. Figueroa, 39, of Allston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Officers recovered a knife from the suspect while investigating this incident. The victim sustained no serious injuries from the assault, but received a minor abrasion.
OUI Suspect Arrested at Home After Leaving Scene of an Accident
Officers from District 11, last night around 11:40pm, responded to a motor vehicle accident at Adams St. and Delmont St. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, whose car had been hit. The victim and a witness reported that they heard a loud crashing sound and went outside where they noticed that the victim’s car had been hit. The victim reported that she had a conversation with the operator of the other car and observed her to be unsteady on her feet, to have slurred speech and to have a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. Officers, based on the information received from the victim, responded to the other driver’s house and there made the same observations reported by the victim. Based on those observations, suspect, Diane Hurlebaus, 45, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with OUI-Alcohol, Second Subsequent Offense. The suspect was unable to perform any of the sobriety tests given to her, and upon being given the Breathalyzer test failed with results almost three times the legal limit.
Off Duty Officer Arrests Armed Suspect
Today at about 12:04am, officers responded to the area of Rich St. and West Selden St. in Mattapan to assist an off duty officer, who had reported shots fired. After hearing shots fired, the off duty officer observed a car leaving the scene and followed. The officer continued to follow the vehicle while broadcasting suspect’s location until other officers arrived and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, officers removed the driver from the car and observed a firearm in front of the driver’s seat. The operator of the car, Claude Felix, 19, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Discharging a Firearm within 500ft. of a Dwelling. In addition, the suspect was charged with Possession of Class D for marijuana found on his person during the booking search. In addition, officer returned to the original scene and recovered ballistics evidence.
