Suspect Wanted in Hit and Run in Brighton
Last night at 9:00pm officers from District 14 responded to a radio call for a person struck by a motor vehicle at 590 Washington Street. On arrival the officers observed an 83-year-old male from Allston lying in the street. Boston EMS responded and transported the victim to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. According to witnesses at the scene, the victim was struck by what was believed to be a green Subaru operated by a white male. After striking the victim, the suspect exited his vehicle looked down at the victim, returned to his car and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact police.
Two Arrested on Gainsborough Street Trafficking Drugs
Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 12:30 pm members of the Drug Control Unit along with Federal Agents arranged for a controlled delivery of the suspect package. About 1:00pm the officers and United State Postal Inspectors responded to 90 Gainsborough St., to deliver this package. Officers were unsuccessful delivering the package but were informed that when the residents of the apartment building are not at home, any undelivered packages are left at the Gainsborough management office, located at 295 Huntington Ave. Officers responded to this location and left the package at this location with manager and remained at this location in surveillance capacity. At approximately 4:20 pm, Robert Quinn, 21, of Boston arrived at that location and ask the manager for the package. The suspect then signed for the package and took possession of it. At this time, officers informed the suspect that the package contained over 100 grams of oxycontin pills.
Later in the afternoon, officers conducting surveillance outside of 90 Gainsborough St. observed two individuals enter that address. At which time Peter Giannitti, 23, of Boston knocked at Quinn\’s door, entered the apartment and took possession of the package and while leaving the apartment was stopped by police. Both Quinn and Giannetti were both placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking Class B drugs. Both will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court.
Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Arrests
Officers assigned to District 3 patrolling at 2:00am this morning observed the operator of a motor vehicle violate the auto laws. When the officers stopped the car at Bicknell and Harvard Streets, they discovered the operator was operating after suspension. He was removed from the vehicle as well as the passenger when one of the officers observed a firearm on the floor of the car. Police arrested Christopher Chase, 20, of Concord, NH and Angel Gonzalez, 26, of Derry, NH. Officers also located 87 rounds of ammunition in the vehicle. Officers saw a blanket in the rear seat and when moved they recovered three shotguns, and one rifle with a scope attached. Both suspects are charged with four counts of Carrying a Rifle or Shotgun on a Public Way, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Loaded Gun and Trafficking Firearms. Both will be arraigned today in the Dorchester District Court.
Window Smashed on Newbury Street
This morning at about 4:33am, officers assigned to District 4 responded to a silent alarm at Valentino on 47 Newbury Street. On arrival officers observed a double paned window on the Berkeley Street side smashed. It is unclear if any items were removed. Detectives from the district continue to investigate.
