Happy ThanksgivingEast Boston Resident Arrested After Failing to Stop for Kids Going to School
An officer assigned to District 7 was crossing the students going to school yesterday morning at 7:21am at Meridian and Lexington Streets when a vehicle operated by Vincent Harrison, 45, of East Boston failed to stop for the students. The officer stopped the vehicle and smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the car. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class D and Violation of the Auto Laws. He’ll be arraigned in the East Boston District Court.
BB Stopped by Leather
Yesterday afternoon at about 12:30 officers assigned to District 13 responded to 3952 Washington Street in Jamaica Plain on a report of a person shot. On arrival, the officers spoke with the 52-year-old victim who stated that he was shot in the arm with a BB. The victim states that his leather jacket prevented him from being injured and declined medical attention. Victim could not provide police with a description of suspects.
Which Way Will They Go Now?
Boston Police urge residents and visitors of Boston to not leave cell phones, I pods, portable GPS systems and of course children and pets unattended in their vehicles. Yesterday a Duxbury resident left her vehicle for two hours on Commonwealth Avenue and Hereford Street. When she returned her window was broken and her $600 “Tom-Tom” GPS system stolen. Police continue to investigate.
Larceny at A.J. Wright
Around 9:20pm, officers in District 14 responded to 60 Everett Street on a report of two shoplifting suspects. On arrival officers spoke with security officers, who stated that suspect #2 brought several items to a cash register manned by suspect #1 an A J Wright employee. Suspect #1 placed several items in a bag without scanning them. Suspect #2 then left the store. Both suspects will be summonsed into court for shoplifting.
Suspect on Bike Steals Handbag
Last night around 9:25pm, officers in District 4 responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at Newbury and Gloucester Streets. On arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated she was walking down Newbury Street, when a black male on a bicycle snatched her handbag. The victim stated she chased the suspect screaming at him as he fled down Newbury Street. The suspect dropped the victim’s bag and she was able to recover her bag with all the contents.
Person Shot in Roxbury
Last night around 9:56pm, officers in District 2 responded to a radio call for shots fired at 161 Blue Hill Avenue. On arrival officers located a black male suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for a non-life threatening injury. The victim was very uncooperative and stated that he did not see anything.
