Police Seek Public’s Assistance in South End Hit and Run

Investigators from the Boston Police Homicide Unit are seeking the public’s help in locating a motor vehicle used in an incident that occurred this morning in the South End. The vehicle is described as being a newer model Volvo sedan, dark blue or black in color. The vehicle has a damaged windshield and possible front-end damage.This morning at about 9:39am, officers from District 4 responded to the intersection of Warren Avenue and Dartmouth Street in Boston’s South End on a report of a pedestrian stuck. On arrival the officers located a 57-year-old mother of eleven children, lying in the street after being struck by a vehicle. According to witness descriptions, a black male, described as being bald and wearing a long black overcoat, operating a newer model Volvo sedan struck the victim with that vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle, checked on the victim, and returned to the car fleeing on Warren Avenue toward Columbus Avenue without identifying himself.
Boston EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the Massachusetts General Hospital where her injuries are considered life threatening.
