Armed Robbery of Store 24 in Hyde ParkLast night around 8:25pm, officers in District 18 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 1187 Hyde Park Avenue (Store 24). On arrival officers spoke with clerk who stated an unknown black male entered the store, showed a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk went on to state that the suspect went behind the counter and when the cash register was opened the suspect removed an unknown amount of cash. The suspect ordered the clerk to the ground and fled the store.
Two Arrested For Armed Robbery
This morning around 3:04am, officers in District 3 were patrolling the area of Hazelton Street and Blue Hill Avenue, when they observed two males walking in a brisk manner up Hazelton towards Fottler Road. The officers began to pull along side the males when they observed another male staggering on Blue Hill Avenue. As officers approached the victim, he began screaming that he was just robbed by two males. As officers reversed direction they observed the two males running down Fottler Road. The two suspects were apprehended at Fottler Road and Walk Hill Street. The victim stated he was walking on Hazelton Street when the two suspects showed a knife and demanded money. Taken from the victim were twenty dollars, lottery tickets and a pack of cigarettes. The victim was stabbed twice in the chest area. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is in stable condition. Willie Conner, 44, of Malden and Anthony Downey, 44, of Randolph, were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon. Officers were able to recover the victim’s property from the two suspects.
