Suspect Arrested for Numerous Counts of Larceny and Identity Fraud

Last night at about 6:00pm, officers from District 4 and from the Special Investigation Unit responded to Neiman Marcus to assist security with a suspect who was attempting to purchase a $2600 pocketbook with a stolen credit card. The suspect attempted to flee the store, but was detained until police arrived. The suspect, Michael Gonzalez, 20, of New York, NY, was placed under arrest.Further investigation revealed that a victim, whose credit card was being used by the suspect, was at District 1 reporting her pocketbook stolen from the Starbuck’s in Faneuil Hall. The victim responded to Huntington Avenue where she positively identified her credit card. The Detective and officers also recovered numerous counterfeit out of state licenses, and other identification cards on the suspect. The suspect was also wanted for a parole violation in Hackensack, NJ.
Gonzalez will be arraigned on Monday morning at the Boston Municipal Court where he will be charged with being a Fugitive from Justice, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Larceny Over $250, Identity Fraud, and Receiving Stolen Property.
