Traffic Stops Lands Three in Jail for Gun and DrugsYesterday around 5:55pm, officers in District 3 conducted a traffic stop at Lucerne and Balsam Streets. Officers observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a stop sign at Floyd and Lucerne Street. As the operator of the motor vehicle opened the window officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Richard White, 21 and Jermal Britt, 18, both of Medford were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Class D and Possession with intent to Distribute Class D. Also arrested was Shakeem Warner, 17, of Dorchester charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with intent to Distribute Class B and Trafficking Class B. Officers recover a firearm, and drugs from the suspects.
Gun Arrest in Roxbury
Last night around 7:45pm, member of the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the Grove Hall area and was monitoring the area of Holworthy Street due to recent firearm related incidents. As officers turned onto Holworthy Street, they observed an individual in the alleyway adjacent to 56 Holworthy Street. As officers pulled up to the alley they observed the suspect running out from the rear of 56 Holworthy Street. Officers arrested Eric Jackson, 19, of Dorchester was arrested and charges with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers did recover a firearm.
Breaking and Entering at the Walgreen’s in Dorchester
Early this morning around 2:41am, officers in District 11 responded to a radio call for an alarm at 130 Bowdoin Street (Walgreen’s). On arrival, officers observed a shattered front window. Officers observed blood on the window and requested assistance from a K-9 officer. Officers cleared the building but did not locate a suspect. Officers were unable to locate the key holder. Officers remained on scene until the building was secured.
