The Boston Police Department will be conducting a car seat safety check on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Shaw’s Supermarket located at 246 Border Street in East Boston from 10:00am-3:00pm. This checkpoint is possible thanks to the Executive Office of Public Safety and the Governor’s Highway Safety Bureau.The police department will have trained technicians on scene that will inspect car seats for installation and offer expert advice and direction on recalled, expired and unsafe car seats. The overall goal of the program is to promote the safe application of child car seats and to ensure that people have car seats that meet safety standards.
