Firearm Recovered in DorchesterYesterday around 6:50pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike were on patrol in the Washington Street area when they observed two males walking towards Gallivan Boulevard. Prior to officers exiting the cruiser one of the suspects grabbed his waist area and began to run. Officers immediate identified the suspect as having all the characteristics of a person fleeing with a firearm. Officers followed the suspect as he ran up Washington Street and jumped a fence at 992 Washington Street while clutching his waist area. The suspect continued to run onto Washington Street where he finally stopped for police. Officer began to conduct a pat frisk of the suspect waist area. The suspect continued to refuse officers to feel his right side by blocking that area with his right hand. Hardy Wallace, 17, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers did recover a firearm from the suspect.
Armed Robbery on South Huntington Avenue
Last night around 8:29pm, officers in District 13 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 201 South Huntington Avenue. On arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated while walking and speaking on the phone he was approached by six males. The victim went on to state that he was pushed against a fence and the one of the suspects pointed a gun at him. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and fled towards Day Street.
Victim Sprayed in Face and Robbed
This morning around 12:38am, officers in District 14 responded to a radio call for a person sprayed with mace at 1625 Commonwealth Avenue. On arrival officers observed the victim sitting on the ground with several lumps and small cuts on his face. The victim also appeared to have been sprayed in the face and eye with a mace like substance. The victim stated while walking home two unknown males who attempted to take his wallet approached him from behind. The victim stated he fought with the suspects before one of them sprayed him in the face with an unknown substance. Both suspects fled on foot towards Washington Street. The victim was treated at the scene by Health and Hospitals.
