Store Clerk Robbed at GunpointYesterday around 9:00pm officers from District 1 responded to Primo’s Convenience Store at 24 Joy Street for an armed robbery. There, officers spoke to the victim who reported that the store was just robbed at gunpoint. The victim reported that the masked suspect entered the store, pointed a gun and demanded that the victim open the register. The victim reported that the suspect pushed him to the ground and assaulted him in the head several times with the gun. The suspect managed to escape with an undetermined amount of cash. A description of the suspect was immediately broadcast. The suspect remains at large.
Suspect Apprehended for Drug Possession and Resisting Arrest
About 5:20pm yesterday officers from District 2 responded to a radio call for a person with a gun at Zeigler Street and Washington Street. En route, officers were given a description of the suspect and advised that the suspect was in possession of a large amount of drugs and a firearm. Officers arrived on scene and observed someone matching the suspect description. That individual fled as officers approached him. The officers pursued the suspect through the Dudley MBTA station. After a foot pursuit, the officers were able to apprehend the suspect. He violently resisted officers’ efforts to subdue him, but he was eventually detained. Search of the suspect revealed him to be in possession of several bags of marijuana. The suspect, Peter Brewer, 46, of Boston, was arrested and charged with Possession of Class D, and Resisting Arrest.
