INFO: In the last eight months, the Charlestown Neighborhood Watch Coalition has successfully organized 41 Neighborhood Watch Groups representing half the streets across Charlestown. The Coalition has proven to be a successful model for accelerating and organizing the creation of Neighborhood Crime Watch Groups. In part, the success is due to the partnership with the Charlestown Mothers Association. The Charlestown Mothers Association worked closely with BPD’s Neighborhood Watch Unit to recruit Neighborhood Watch leaders from within its membership. The Charlestown Substance Abuse Coalition also played a key role in organizing by providing leadership, organizing events, and assisting with educational training.
