Traffic Stops Ends in Shoplifters ArrestYesterday around 6:40pm, officers in District 14 observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a red light at the intersection of Everett Street and N. Beacon Street. Officers performed a traffic stop and observed an unusual amount of food in the back seat scattered about. The operator stated that she bought the groceries from stop and shop on Everett Street. Further investigation by officers revealed that the operator did not pay for the groceries and walked out of the store without paying. Maria Deminico, 43 of Malden and Robert Yandle, 26, of Charleston were arrested and charged with Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods. The operator was also issued a citation for Failure to stop for a red light.
Armed Robbery Suspects Caught
Last night around 7:44pm, officers from District 2 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 425 Brookline Avenue (7 Eleven). On arrival officers obtained a description of the suspects and broadcasted that they were on mountain bikes. Officers searched the area and a short time later observed them walking their bikes near Cedar Street. Officers spoke with the victim who stated he observed the suspect exit the backroom with a large bulge under his jacket. The victim pulled at the suspect’s jacket and several items fell from the suspect’s jacket. At that time the suspect pulled out a screwdriver and lunged at the victim. The suspects were positively identified and were placed under arrest. James Camp, 45, of Dorchester and Ronald Green, 36, of South End were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. Camp was also charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon. Officers were able to recover the stolen items from the suspects. The victim sustained a small laceration to his hand and refused medical attention.
