DAILY INCIDENTS FOR OCTOBER 22, 2006

M/V Accident Lands Two Suspects In Jail, One Victim in HospitalToday around 12:23am officers from District 5 observed a car driving at a high rate in the area of Rosecliff St. Shortly after observing this motor vehicle, officers attempted to get closer in order to effect a traffic stop. Officers at the intersection of Albano St. and Washington St. again observed the same motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed, enter the intersection without stopping and strike another motor vehicle in traffic. The occupants of the speeding motor vehicle immediately exited the car and attempted to flee after causing the accident. Two of the three occupants were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. Operator, Fausto O. Oviedo,26, of Roslindale, was arrested and charged Operating Under Influence-Alcohol, Operating with a Suspended License, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Personal Injury. Passenger, Jose Morales, 29, of Hyde Park, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer for resisting arrest and striking officers after he was apprehended. The operator of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after being rescued from her car by the “jaws of life.”
B&E Suspect Caught Red Handed
This morning around 12:26am, officers from District 1 responded to 360 Washington St. after being alerted by a passerby that someone was breaking into the Strawberry’s Music Store. On arrival, officers located an individual, matching the suspect description given by the passerby, reaching inside the store attempting to take some items off of a display rack. The front window glass was broken, and a large rock was observed on the ground next to the suspect. In addition, the suspect had a bleeding laceration to his hand from the broken glass and the store window had blood on it. The suspect, Melvin Concepcion, 48, of Boston, was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering.
Firearm Recovered by Officers After Being Alerted by Concerned Citizen
Around 12:38am today, a concerned citizen flagged down officers from District 2 and stated to officers that she had just witnessed the male driver of a described motor vehicle pointing a gun at another person in the area of 153 Blue Hill Ave. Officers located the car and followed it until they were able to safely stop it. During the stop of that motor vehicle, officers recovered a firearm and both occupants of the car were placed under arrest. Suspects, Arthur A. Crisafulli, 42, of Medford, and Kim Huffman, 37, of Attleboro, were both arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful of Ammunition. In addition, suspect, Kim Huffman was found to be in possession of a white powdered substance during booking and charged accordingly with Possession of a Class B drug.
