Acting Boston Police Commissioner Albert E. Goslin announces that 60 newly trained Boston Police officers have received their patrol assignments at districts across the city. Assignments are effective today, Thursday, October 19, 2006.“These officers have successfully completed rigorous training requirements,” said Commissioner Goslin. “It is truly an honor to congratulate each new officer and wish them success as they report to duty at their new assignments.”
“Today Boston Police officers face a much more complex world. They must think and act quickly, lead by example, perform their job constitutionally and show great compassion. I am confident that that men and woman of this graduating class posses the skills and passion necessary to provide the utmost level of police service to the residents of Boston.”
The new officers will begin their law enforcement career under the watchful eye of veteran supervisors.
