Suspect “Bagged” by Alert OfficersRobbery Victim’s Backpack Recovered
Yesterday at around 1:43pm, officers from District 4 responded to the area of 627 Tremont St. for a report of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that three suspects approached him, and one of the three grabbed his backpack after motioning to his waistband as if armed. All three suspects then fled. The victim reported his backpack contained $632.00 in cash. A description of the suspects was broadcast including their direction of flight. Alert officers soon located an individual matching one of the suspect’s descriptions. That individual was detained and positively identified by the victim. Suspect, Thomas Calderon, 17, of East Boston was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery. Officers recovered the victim’s bag including all of the contents when a concerned citizen discovered the backpack and called the police.
Warrant Suspect Found Hiding in Kitchen Cabinet
At approximately 3:30pm, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force arrived at 106 Ward St in Roxbury to place a suspect of a warrant under arrest. Officers gained entry and were informed that the suspect was not home. After a brief search of the premise, suspect, Jason Colon, 24, of Roxbury who is 5’11” and 180 lbs. was discovered hiding in a kitchen cabinet. Suspect was arrested on Suffolk Superior Court warrants for Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Firearm Violations.
“Road Rage” Suspects Arrested
Yesterday officers from District 1 responded to a call for a fight at 19 Snowhill St. in Boston around 8:30pm. On arrival, officers spoke to the victims of an assault brought about by “road rage.” Victims stated that they were driving when another car occupied by the suspects almost hit them. Per victims, some words were exchanged after which the suspect motor vehicle continued to follow them. Victims then stated that after a while they pulled over to allow suspects to pass, but suspects exited their car instead and began to assault them. Suspects then fled the area. The suspects were soon located following a radio broadcast describing their motor vehicle. The suspects were stopped, detained and positively identified by the victims. Pursuant to that stop, officers recovered a large amount of cash and drugs. Suspects, Michael Lacey, 17, of Charlestown; Corey Ferreira, 17, of Charlestown and Ryan Brendan, 17, of Charlestown were all arrested and charged with assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Class A substance and almost $3,000.00 in money seized.
