Person Shot in East BostonLast night around 8:48pm, officers in District 7 responded to a radio call for a person shot at 201 Marion Street. On arrival officers observed the victim being treated by EMTs. The victim was treated and released at the scene for a superficial wound to his ankle. Officers did recover ballistic evidence at the scene.
Person Shot in Charlestown
Last night around 8:42pm, officers in District 15 responded to a radio call for shot fired at 17 Carney Street. On arrival officers spoke with the caller who stated she heard about four to five shots and observed a group running. Officers were informed that a victim walked into Mass General Hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim stated unknown person(s) shot him after a verbal argument. The victim was treated for non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
Breaking and Entering Suspect Arrested
Early this morning around 2:31am, officers in District 4 responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering at Massachusetts Avenue and Marlborough Streets. A description of the suspect was broadcasted, a white male with a Patriots jersey. Upon arrival officers observed a suspect fitting the description in front of 47 Marlborough Street. Officers observed damage to the front door, one of the panels was shattered and the other panel was cracked. Mathew Mello, 32, of Brighton was arrested and charged with Attempted Breaking and Entering and Destruction or injury of personal Propery.
