B&E Suspect Caught after Trying to Get Away on BicycleYesterday afternoon at approximately 1:10pm, officers from District 4 responded to East Springfield St. for a report of a male breaking into a car. Detail officers located at the intersection of Harrison Ave. and East Dedham St. overheard a radio broadcast of the suspect’s description. Shortly thereafter the detail officers observed an individual matching the suspect’s description fleeing the area on bicycle. Officers attempted to stop him for questioning when he hurriedly fled from officers. The suspect was apprehended when he failed to negotiate a turn on his bicycle, fell and attempted to flee on foot. After a foot pursuit, the suspect was subsequently placed under arrest at 698 Tremont St. where he was found hiding in an alley. A witness to the crime positively identified suspect, Terry Graham, 44, of the South End who was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle.
Suspect Arrested for Stabbing Incident at 99 O’Callahan Street in South Boston
About 5:27pm yesterday officers from District 6 responded to 99 O’Callaghan St. in South Boston for a person with a knife. There, officers spoke with two victims who stated that two suspects, with whom they are familiar, confronted them. Both victims stated that they ran into the hallway of the building after being assaulted by one of the suspects. One of the two suspects then entered the hallway brandishing a knife and stabbed one of the victims in the arm. Both suspects then fled the area prior to police arrival. The officers quickly apprehended one of the two suspects, Joseph DeAngelo, 38, of South Boston. DeAngelo was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Suspect of Armed Robbery Arrested with Evidence
About 5:48am today, officers from District 2 assisted by officers from District 11 responded to a call for a robbery in progress at the intersection of Quincy St. and Howard Ave. There, officers spoke with the victim, who reported that he was walking down Quincy St. when the suspect approached him and asked him for a cigarette. Per victim, as he handed the suspect a cigarette, the suspect pulled out a knife and demanded all of his money. Victim stated that he gave the suspect twenty dollars and left the scene to call the police. Police then located the suspect, Keith Barrientos, 36, of Quincy, in the area and placed him under arrest for Armed Robbery. Officers recovered the stolen twenty dollars from the suspect’s sock.
