Pedestrian Struck by Taxi on Dartmouth Street

At 6:48pm this evening officers in District 4 responded to 130 Dartmouth Street for a pedestrian struck by a car. A 40-year-old male victim was found pinned under a taxicab with a severe leg injury. The victim was taken to an area hospital and was immediately taken into surgery. He is expected to survive. Preliminary investigation indicates that that the victim was involved in an argument with a passenger inside the cab and banging on the window of the cab. The cab driver exited his cab and confronted the victim and was assaulted. The cab driver entered his cab and drove towards the victim striking him in the leg. The cab driver, 52-year-old Aden Osman of Everett was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Driving to Endanger and Reckless/Negligent Operation. He will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Monday morning.

    Just out of curiosity……All news reports and I believe your posting state that the driver of the taxi was iniitally assaulted by the “victim” while trying to protect his vehicle/passanger of the incident will he also be charged in this incident?I know the driver broke rule number 2 in the cabbies bible by getting out of the car……but he could probably use a little peace love and understanding no?
